Mere Image | Bio

Stockton based musicians unite as Mere Image offering listeners high energy; rock based original music that always brings a crowd to their feet.  Mixed into the set-list of originals are top cover rock tunes of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.

Most of the band members have been playing together since 2009 with the addition of Doc Mompean in late 2010 as the lead guitarist.  Their live performances are beyond just music as the lead singer, Tom Graves, interacts with the crowd to build excitement and energy.  However, it is their music that created a following of people.  Seems that their blending of powerful lyrics combined with passionate and gritty rock guitar, bass and drums really grabs hold of the listener and never lets go.

Their live performances are for diverse crowds that include boating enthusiasts of Windmill Cove to the spicy patrons of Iguana Wannas.  Mere Image is not only comfortable in small local establishments, but is also right at home playing at the larger venues such as the San Joaquin County Fair.  It doesn’t matter if the crowd is several hundred or several thousand, Mere Image plays as though  several million people were dancing before them.

The Mere Image players are comprised of five musicians including Tom Barnard on drums and vocals, Tom Graves as lead vocalist, Dave Hogan on bass and vocals, Doc Mompean as the lead guitarist and vocals, Bill Raley as guitar and vocals and Mac Wilson on guitar and vocals.
